The short answer
Concrete flatwork in North Carolina runs $8 to $20 per square foot installed in 2026, paver patios $14 to $30 in concrete pavers and $25 to $50 in natural stone, retaining walls $30 to $75 per square foot of wall face, built-in fire pits $2,500 to $6,000, outdoor kitchens $8,000 to $45,000, and stone veneer $18 to $45 per square foot. Every range on this page includes the site visit and layout, excavation and haul-off, a compacted crushed-stone base, drainage, the build itself to the spec on the quote, cleanup and a walk-through. Removal of old concrete, permits and engineering, licensed gas, electrical and plumbing, and pumps or long carries for no-access yards are extras that always appear as their own lines. The ranges are published 2026 North Carolina figures cross-checked against our own quoting; the calculator below uses the same tables, and the itemized written quote after a free site visit is the price.

Pricing questions
Why do you publish prices when other contractors do not?
A homeowner who knows the range calls with a real budget and a real question, so the site visit is spent on the yard rather than on sticker shock. The ranges are published 2026 North Carolina figures cross-checked against our own quoting. The written quote after the visit is the price.
Why is the estimate a range and not a number?
The four things that move the price most cannot be seen from a square-foot count: access for the truck, soil and slope, how much has to be removed, and the finish you choose. So we give you an honest range first, and the exact number after we have stood in the yard.
Is there a minimum job size?
We quote small jobs, but a 60 square foot pad carries the same truck, crew and setup as a 600 square foot one, so it prices toward the top of the per-square-foot range or above it. Bundling small items into one visit brings the per-item price down.
What does the written quote include?
Every line of the build: measurements, thickness or base depth, mix strength or paver type by name, reinforcement, drainage, joint layout or pattern, finish and sealer, removal and haul-off, permits or engineering as their own lines, and the cure or use dates. It is written so you can compare it line by line with anyone else's.
Do prices change by city in North Carolina?
A little. Charlotte, Raleigh and their suburbs run toward the middle and top of these ranges because of demand and disposal costs; smaller towns often sit lower. Distance from the concrete plant matters more than the city name: a pour far from a plant pays for the truck time.
How do I pay, and do you take deposits?
A deposit at signing covers materials, the balance is due after the walk-through. Terms are on the quote so there is nothing to negotiate on the last day.
